Full School Assembly Tuesday 10th August

The College Community gathered for Assembly during period 1 on Tuesday August 10th.  The Assembly was planned and conducted by the Year 11 Boys and included a number of presentations of great interest.

Among the highlights were:

A presentation from World Vision seeking support for the upcoming 40 Hour Famine on August 22 - 24 to combat the Global Food Crisis that affects 1 billion people worldwide.  The boys were encouraged to ask themselves the question 'What are you hungry for?' in order to make a difference to the lives of those who have so little.

Presentation of Certificates of Appreciation for the ten Year 11 students who had been involved in the Peer Support Program with Stonnington Primary School.  This program involved the boys from CBC in visiting Stonnington to assist with the reading program and to provide some peer support for the children in the yard.  Each boy gave up an hour and a half each week to visit and their assistance was certainly appreciated.  The boys spoke of how wonderful the experience had been for them and how much they liked working with the children from Stonnington.

A bit of 'Summer Lovin' from the full cast of 'Grease'.  With just close to two weeks to go it was fantastic to see the cast perform for the community and inspiring to note the level of talent and commitment from the students of CBC and PCW. If this performance was an indication of the actual performances Grease will be a 'not to be missed' event.  Check out ticketing arrangements and performance dates and times on the website.
